Rachel Reeves visits Quell Therapeutics

It was a significant day for BIA member Quell Therapeutics as CEO Iain McGill and the team welcomed Rt Hon Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, to the Translation & Innovation Hub in London to officially open their newly refurbished offices.

Ms. Reeves was accompanied by Emma Reynolds (Minister for Pensions), Steve Bates OBE FMedSci (CEO of the UK BioIndustry Association, BIA), and Kristen McLeod CBE (CSO of the British Business Bank).

During her visit, Ms. Reeves toured Quell’s state-of-the-art lab facilities and met with employees, before being interviewed by the BBC, Financial Times, and Bloomberg. She shared insights on the UK Government’s vision for pension “megafunds” aimed at accelerating economic growth and driving investment into innovative sectors that leverage the UK’s world-leading research capabilities.
