In 2014, PTC expanded its presence across Europe and in the UK, with a mission to improve the lives of patients.

The UK was PTC’s first European office to open, in London, and to realize this mission in the region. Today, 23 employees are based in the UK, leading both regional and global functions.

Over the last decade in Europe, PTC UK team have brought multiple life-transforming products to patients living with rare diseases in desperate need of therapy and expanded access across the UK. Through collaborative partnerships with industry partners, medical experts, and patient advocacy organisations, PTC contributed to positive progress in the rare disease community, notably improving standards of care and prospects for people with rare disease.

Various new and pioneering initiatives have flourished as a result, that have created a wider impact, across Europe.

“Looking back at the last 10 years is truly rewarding. We are a small biopharmaceutical company that has made big strides. We thank the rare disease community and our partners for being part of this journey” says Ian Davidson, Regional Head, based in London, UK.

PTC is also proud to have made an impact in the local community. Over the years, PTC has supported various outreach efforts, including the Wheelchair Football Association, which governs Powerchair Football. A unique sport that provides opportunities for people with a high level of impairment to access the game of football.

“It makes us proud to see people thrive and a more inclusive experience for underrepresented groups in society” says Ian Davidson.

PTC continues to expand its innovative pipeline to discover and develop treatments across multiple therapeutic areas using the newest technologies available.

“We look forward to the next decade and remain committed to serving all our patients as we launch the next wave of products into our region” says Ian Davidson.
