Plexāā collaborates with Panasonic Manufacturing UK for contract manufacturing of their BLOOM⁴³ medical device
London, UK – 15 January 2025 – Plexāā, a London-based medical device startup, is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Panasonic Manufacturing UK as their contract manufacturer for the award-winning BLOOM⁴³ medical device.
The BLOOM⁴³ platform is designed to help patients prepare for breast cancer surgery and reconstruction by harnessing the power of supraphysiological preconditioning. This technique intermittently heats the skin causing the release of heat-shock proteins which in turn cause vasodilation and increased blood flow to the area. This has been shown to reduce wound healing complications in proof-of-concept clinical trials.
Recently honoured with the prestigious Femtech Product of the Year award from MedTech World, the BLOOM⁴³ device is currently being trialled at Stanford University Hospital, California and the company is preparing for a market launch in the U.S. in spring 2025.
With over 1 million breast surgeries performed annually in the US alone, the collaboration between Plexāā and Panasonic Manufacturing UK is expected to significantly accelerate the production and scaling of this innovative healthcare solution.
Panasonic Manufacturing UK have just expanded their operations to include a state-of-the-art RE100 application, based on its own hydrogen fuel cell technology it is designed to run the Home appliance facility,100% on renewable energy, the first of its kind in Europe.
