Tell us about your company and ambitions
Cushman & Wakefield is a global leading real estate services firm. We advise occupiers in the life sciences sector and draw on our significant global experience and market recognition in the US to best serve our clients in the UK and Europe.
Our specialists advise companies on how and where to set up new facilities, handling strategy, negotiation, analysis, and implementation for companies from start-ups through to big pharma. We hope our advice will play a small part in the success of the sector in the UK.
What are some of the priorities that you’re currently working on?
In the last couple of years, we have worked with some of the largest occupiers in the UK acquiring a vast range of assets, from European R&D facilities in Kings Cross for MSD, to land for a Biomanufacturing facility for a CDMO business. We are currently working with both British and American occupiers considering their options to bring their product to market.
We are undertaking deep analysis into talent and supply chain considerations and looking at how best to share this information with our wider client base and community – on that front, watch out for our ‘Locating Science’ report releasing this spring.
We are very keen to hear from the UK Life Science occupier community. By understanding what Life Sciences occupiers want and need, we/ Cushman & Wakefield can help to identify/ secure the right space at the right price point.
What was your motivation behind joining BIA and what are you looking to achieve?
We want to engage with leading members of the UK life sciences community and support the continued growth of this important industry. We are keen to share our industry leading data analysis and insight and share our expertise and global CRE perspectives with the BIA community.
What excites you about the UK life sciences sector?
There is a buzz surrounding the sector. Everyone is excited about what they are doing and how that can impact the world, they also happen to be nice people to work with.
If you could invite any scientist or entrepreneur to dinner, who would it be and why?
Demis Hassabis from Deep Mind - the link between AI and Biotech is exciting and it would be great to see where he thinks the world is going, and to understand first-hand how much R&D can be done by AI.
