Manchester Met degree apprenticeship becomes first accredited by the Royal Society of Biology

As a significant milestone in the University’s history as an apprenticeship provider, Manchester Met’s Laboratory Scientist (Bioscience) Degree Apprenticeship has become the first Level 6 apprenticeship to be accredited by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB). Following an independent and rigorous assessment, the programme has received this prestigious accreditation, confirming its strong academic foundation in biological sciences.

Graduates of this apprenticeship will be well-equipped with the knowledge and key skills required by employers in the bioscience sector. This accreditation criteria ensures that apprentices meet defined learning outcomes, including subject expertise, technical competence, and transferable skills.

The RSB is the leading professional body for the biological sciences in the UK, represents more than 17,500 biologists and nearly 100 organisations within the life sciences sector, both nationally and internationally. Its accreditation is a mark of quality that reflects the high standards of educational provision at Manchester Met.
