Future Leaders Fellowships: round 10
Apply for funding to support ambitious research and innovation across UK Research and (UKRI)’s remit. Applicants from non-academic backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
You must be an early career researcher or innovator who is either:
- looking to establish or transition to independence
- developing their own original and ambitious plans within a commercial setting
- You must be based at, and have the support of, an eligible academic or non-academic institution eligible for UKRI funding.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Host eligibility: Applicants must be based at a UK organisation eligible for UKRI funding. Non-academic applicants must apply via the Innovation Funding Service; academic applicants via the UKRI Funding Service.
- Duration: Fellowships are funded for up to four years, with the option to renew for an additional three years.
- Funding: No minimum or maximum funding limit—requests should be appropriate to the project scope.
- Focus: The fellowship supports leadership development, ambitious research, and innovation across UKRI's remit.
- Time commitment: Fellows are expected to focus 100% on their fellowship, with flexibility for part-time work, job shares, and career breaks.
