Valneva Scotland appoints science communications consultancy, Perceptive Communicators

Glasgow-based specialist communications consultancy, Perceptive Communicators, has announced its appointment to provide strategic communications services for Valneva Scotland, a specialty vaccine company that develops, manufactures, and commercialises vaccines for infectious diseases, addressing unmet medical needs.

Following a competitive pitch to support Valneva in Scotland, Perceptive was chosen to provide strategic stakeholder, communications and media support.

Valneva is Scotland’s largest vaccine producer, with the global company’s Manufacturing Centre of Excellence located in Livingston and employing nearly 180 team members. Valneva recently picked up two accolades at the annual Life Sciences Scotland Awards 2024, as well as a RoSPA Silver Award 2024 for health and safety excellence.

David Ridd, Head of Brand and Public Relations UK, Valneva, added: “Valneva contributes significantly to Scotland’s life sciences sector, and our recent award wins demonstrate our commitment to scientific excellence and business leadership. Perceptive’s knowledge of life sciences and the media landscape makes them a great fit to help tell our story.”

Julie Moulsdale, Managing Director of Perceptive Communicators, expressed enthusiasm about the firm's collaboration with Valneva. She remarked: "Valneva is a Scottish life science powerhouse, and we’re very excited to support their exciting plans and upcoming milestones. Their ambition to be the best life science company to work for is aligned with Perceptive’s purpose, supporting companies who improve lives and transform futures.”

“With our sector specialisms in science, technology and the built environment, Perceptive has the deep expertise and influential contacts to help our clients achieve their communications goals.”

This latest appointment follows Perceptive’s successful wins with Muir Group, Ravenscraig, Campion Home, BioConnect Ireland, and Innovate UK earlier this year. Perceptive also recently picked up a string of awards, winning at the 2024 Inspiring Workplaces Awards and the Homes for Scotland Annual Awards.
