Getting the most out of your BIA website

With the launch of our new website, we’ve introduced a range of exciting features to better serve the UK innovative life sciences and biotech community. This blog will guide you through these updates, helping you make the most of your BIA website and online membership benefits.

How to register

If you’re visiting the BIA website for the first time and looking to make the most of the features, be sure to create an online account if you haven’t already. We'll send you an email to verify it, and once verified, you’ll be able to access the online benefits and update your account details,  including:

  • Update your contact details

  • Update your employment history, including company and job title

  • Manage your communication preferences and preferred topics of interest (from sector themes like R&D, AI and data to trending topics, like TechBio and more)

  • Select your regions: primary – where your company is based, and secondary – other regions you’re interested in

  • Submit company news, advertise job openings, promote events, share sector opportunities (jump to the section)

...and more!

Membership Directory

The BIA’s new Membership Directory helps increase your business visibility, showcase your company and raise brand awareness. Use the membership directory to navigate the UK’s innovative life sciences ecosystem, connect with fellow members and understand their focus areas. With more than 600+ member companies across industry, investors, academia and more, the directory supports valuable cross-sector collaboration.

Looking for a specific company? Just type the name into the search bar. Use asterisks if you're unsure about the full name of the company (i.e. BIA* to find all companies that have 'BIA' in their name). Alternatively, you can use filters to refine your search.

Within a member profile, you’ll find key details, such as:

  • company website, contact details (email and phone) and their social media profiles

  • business focus, technology type and therapeutic areas they specialise in

  • news and articles featuring the company

  • events or job openings they are promoting

...and more!

New membership directory features

Apply filters to find businesses that share your interests and needs. You can filter using all category types listed below to tailor your search:

  • Technology type*: search by the technology focus to connect with relevant partners and stakeholders: genomics, Tech Bio and more!

  • Therapeutic areas*: choose from areas like Allergic disorders, Digital health and more to reach those with similar interests or expertise.

  • Business type*: choose from a variety of business types to better position your profile – whether you’re a drug discovery company or consultancy firm.

  • Funding stage: including funding stage information in your company profile helps investors understand what kind of investment you’re looking for.

  • Primary region: indicate your main region of operation in the UK to make it easier for local and international partners to discover and collaborate with you.

  • Map view offers a visual representation of the UK biotech ecosystem, making it easier to explore connections between different various geographical locations.

Key contacts can add the above category types via the ‘Edit my company profile’ option on the Member homepage

Have you updated your company profile recently? Doing so enhances your presence in the membership directory and makes it easier for potential connections and investors to find you.
