From Friday, 7 to Sunday, 16 March, British Science Week 2025 is a chance to celebrate everything about science and the amazing contributions made by professionals within this field. This year’s theme, “Change and Adapt,” encourages us to reflect on how humans, animals, and technology evolve to meet the challenges of a growing population and changing environment.

As a significant milestone in the University’s history as an apprenticeship provider, Manchester Met’s Laboratory Scientist (Bioscience) Degree Apprenticeship has become the first Level 6 apprenticeship to be accredited by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB).

A new report from Manchester Metropolitan University, Force for Impact, shows that degree apprenticeships drive productivity and tackle key skills gaps. The report underscores how these programmes are not just meeting the educational and skills needs of the UK workforce but are also playing a vital role in driving social mobility, improving productivity, and fostering diversity within workplaces.
