Cystic Fibrosis Trust at a glance

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a UK charity that funds research, improves care, and supports people with cystic fibrosis.

About Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis (CF). The Trust funds vital research, improves care, speaks out and races towards effective treatments for all. Their research activities include funding research awards, managing and sponsoring the UK CF Registry and leading a Clinical Trials Accelerator Platform (CTAP). Their research grants portfolio is guided by the research priorities of people with CF, it includes programme grants and a leverage funding scheme open to biotechs and biopharmaceutical companies. Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a managing partner in the CF AMR Syndicate. CTAP provides the infrastructure to support sponsors with delivery of CF clinical trials through a network of centres, and a platform to enable people with CF to gain access to these trials. Support for sponsors is available from trial design, set up and delivery of clinical trials, where involvement / PPI of people with CF is at its centre. The UK Cystic Fibrosis Registry is an invaluable resource for pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacovigilance, health technology assessments, and NHS service evaluation and improvement. Through the publication of reports, and managed access to data, the Registry enables researchers to track long-term health outcomes and understand disease pathogenesis in CF.
