The Role:
The Laboratory Technician will provide core technical support to our scientists. Day-to-day activities will include overseeing the various laboratories within the business and assisting the Laboratory Operations team in laboratory administration, maintenance, and supporting their smooth running whilst adhering to Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Key roles and responsibilities:
- •eneral laboratory housekeeping including glass washing, autoclaving, legionella tap flushing, and fridge and freezer checks.
- Performing routine laboratory maintenance activities including equipment maintenance, calibration, regular maintenance and cleaning of microbiological safety cabinets, incubators and water baths.
- Supported laboratory operations with deliveries, shipments, procurement, and stock management.
- Disposal of chemical and biological waste by company and local regulations, and coordination of recycling schemes for laboratory areas.
- Preparing media and buffers.
- Procurement of consumables to maintain stock room inventory.
- Organisation and coordination of the laundering of lab coats.
- Coordination of dry ice deliveries for the laboratories.
- Ensuring all safety guidelines are adhered to, maintaining a clean and orderly environment and contributing towards ensuring safety and HTA regulations and guidelines are adhered to as required.
- Support the maintenance of sample inventories.
