The Assistant Facilities Manager will play a central part in supporting the daily operation of the facilities. Providing support to our Research Facility team and contributing to the smooth running of our labs. It is a blend of hands-on and co-ordination duties, within a small high performing operational team with a values-based culture.

Responsibilities
As the Assistant Facilities Manager, you will:
- Produce area specific risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures for Facilities managed areas
- Asset management and build of database working in conjunction with Finance Team, Science Facility and Laboratory Managers
- Liaison and planning of periodic shutdowns and Planned Preventative Maintenance with Estates Mechanical and Compliance teams and internal coordination with Science Facility and Laboratory Managers
- Liaison with Cleaning contractor and Estates Soft Services including periodic review inspections
- Support for periodic inspections (Fire, First Aid, Safety etc.)
- Review of maintenance contracts on equipment in conjunction with Finance Team
- Periodic small plant and equipment maintenance and monitoring activities
- Contractor induction and supervision whilst duties are being undertaken on site
