About

The BioIndustry Association (BIA) is the voice of the innovative life sciences and biotech industry, enabling and connecting the UK ecosystem so that businesses can start, grow and deliver world-changing innovation.

Established in 1989, the BioIndustry Association (BIA) is an award-winning UK life sciences trade association representing more than 620 member organisations across the biotechnology and life sciences sector.

BIA members include:

  • Start-ups, scale-ups and innovative biotechnology and life sciences companies
  • Pharmaceutical, technology and data-driven health companies
  • Universities, research institutes, technology transfer offices, incubators and accelerators
  • Life sciences service providers, including investors, legal advisers, intellectual property consultants, and communications and investor relations agencies

BIA is the leading UK thought leader for biotech and life sciences, working across many policy areas, including finance and tax, medicine regulation and skills. We shape the sector’s future by championing innovation in areas such as engineering biology, techbio and advanced therapeutics, and by supporting the growth of a globally competitive UK life sciences ecosystem.
